This item is perfectly compatible with my 17" MacBook Pro, 2.4Ghz laptop.
It only took 5 minutes to install, however, just make sure you have a set of precision screw drivers to access the memory compartment. The system is working FLAWLESSLY.
There is no need to pay Apple $600, when you can buy this Kingston kit, which does the exact same thing, saving you five-hundred dollars in the process =o)

Bought the Kingston 4 GB RAM Kit to replace the stock 2GB RAM that shipped in my MacBook Pro.
After the installation, the computer powered up fine and the new RAM was recognized.
So far so good.

I knew I wanted more than the 1G memory that came with my Macbook but was nervous about installing it. The instructions that came with the memory were sketchy but I found illustrated instructions on the internet. It was very simple to install and works like a charm.
